Obituary for Susan Jeannette Rainey
Susan passed away peacefully at Kaiser Medical Center on Dec. 9, 2015, surrounded by her loved ones. She was born to John and Mildred Rainey on Oct. 16, 1947, in Omaha, Nebraska and has been a resident of Solano County since the age of eight. Against medical advice, John and Mildred cared for Susan in their home until they passed six years ago, giving her love and devotion. In 2010, Susan joined the Marcus family where she lived with Sharon and her two best friends, Susie and Lee Ann. Susan is survived by her cousins, Jim Hartman of Kansas City, Missouri, Judy Thorne of St. Louis, Missouri and Bob Hartman of San Diego, California. As Susan's conservator, Jim Hartman carried on the legacy of her parents and continued fulfilling their wishes. The Hartman and Marcus families appreciate all of the support received at Pace Solano, of which her parents were co-founders 55 years ago. Susan was a large inspiration for the formation of the special needs ministry at Rolling Hills Community Church in Vacaville, which she attended the last years of her life. Susan touched many hearts, wonderful friends, associates, neighbors and family. Susan will be missed by all who knew her. Memorial service will be held at 4:30 p.m. on Friday Dec. 18, 2015, at Christian Church of Vacaville, 66 Vine St. Vacaville. Reception at church to follow immediately after service.
