Patricia Lynn Williams passed away Saturday January 1, 2023, at her home in Vacaville, CA. She was born to Herbert and Marilyn Miller in Bradford, PA on September 6, 1951. While a child her father was in the Air Force and they lived in England, Missouri, North Carolina, Texas. When her father retired, they moved to Greybull, WY where she graduated from high school, then attended Powell Community College, WY. After one year she joined the Air Force and served 4 years stationed at McGuire Air Force Base, NJ. While in the military Patty became a journeyman carpenter and was proud that she was the first woman at McGuire to enter the trades, breaking that “glass ceiling”
After leaving the military she worked in various clerical positions in New Jersey until she moved to Texas to be closer to her mother, and there met her husband Tommy Williams. She had a successful 26-year career with Home Depot working with contractors and the public. After she retired, she moved to Cheyenne, WY to be closer to her sister and brother-in-law, Martha and Pat, where she enjoyed going to Wyoming football and basketball games, mountain outings. and then on to Vacaville, CA to be close to her sister Jean. Patty enjoyed Pacific Ocean visits, concerts, wine country, and gardening to name a few.
Patty was known to friends and family as a very kind, compassionate, giving, and loving person. She was one of those rare people that was an instant friend to everyone she met. There wasn’t a veteran that she didn’t thank for their service, a little child that she didn’t say hi to, or an animal she didn’t give a pet or treat. She will be greatly missed by those that knew and loved her.
Patty was preceded in death by her husband, parents, grandparents, and other extended family members.
She is survived by her son Daryl Wilcox (Esther) of Rio Rancho, NM, her sisters Jean Sullivan of Vacaville, CA, Martha Miller (Pat) of Laramie, WY, grandchildren Lucas Wilcox (Joanna), Adam Wilcox, and Carlos Wilcox, Aunt Dianna Hane of Naples, FL, nieces Shaun Edwards (Mike), Lindsey Miller, nephew Casey Miller (Taylor), and numerous great nieces and nephews and cousins.
