Obituary for Yukiaki Takeda
Yukiaki Takeda passed away peacefully on Jan. 8 after a short illness. Yuki was born in Vacaville on November 1, 1928 and lived here his entire life with the exception of an internment camp in Arizona during WWII, after which his family returned to Vacaville. He worked as a gardener for many years and as a Packaging Supervisor with Basic Vegetable for 35 years. He loved fishing of all types and in his retirement was affiliated with SIR and JAL. He enjoyed golf, travel, and spending time with family. He is survived by his wife, Yayoi (aka Mike); children, Helen (Roger) Smith, David (Colleen) Gopp, Dewey (Beverlee) Gopp; 10 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren and siblings Michio, Tomiko, Koji, Kazuye, Mitzuye, Tomo and Akira. He was preceded in death by his parents, Michizo and Yoneko and his siblings, Shizuyo, Maseo, Tokio and Fujiko.
