Jackie Chaffee, born August 19,1923 in Eustace, Tx., beloved and celebrated centurion of
Vacaville, died peacefully in her home on April 16. 2024.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 11:30 AM., Wednesday, April 24th at McCune Garden
Chapel, 212 Main St, Vacaville, CA.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Chaffee, son, James D. Wilson, a brother,
and three sisters.
She is survived by four children, Pamela Makerney of Bryan, Texas. Sandra Arwick, (Jim), of
Sonora, and Clara Oakes of Vacaville, and son, Jack Andrews, (Shirlene) of Coppell, Texas.
She was grandmother to 16 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren, and 4 great-great
grandchildren.
Jackie enjoyed a career as secretary to the commander of the 349th Air Mobility Wing at Travis
Air Force Base until her retirement.
She was an accomplished gourmet cook, winning many cooking contests, including the grand
prize in a Solano County cooking contest.
She was a member of the Church of Christ in Vacaville. Her personal relationship with the Lord
brought her great comfort throughout her lifetime.
Among her treasured activities was her involvement with the ladies of the Red Hat Society of
Vacaville. She was the eldest member and cherished the title of Countess Yellow Rose,
depicting her love for yellow roses.
Her passion for life, energy and charisma made her a true force! She may have left the physical
world, but her delightful energy and love will fill our hearts and minds forever. Rest In Peace
sweet mother and best friend.
