William “Bill” K. McMullen Jr., 88, passed away November 16 in Fairfield in the presence of his beloved family.
He was born in Rochester, New York to William Kenneth Sr. and Doris McMullen (deceased). He resided there until his teenage years and then moved to California. He had one younger brother Alan McMullen (deceased) whom he loved dearly.
Bill was married to his high school sweetheart Margaret for 69 years. Their anniversary was Valentine’s Day, February 14, 1953. They met at Castlemont High School in Oakland in the 10th grade.
They moved to Hayward for 12 years and then moved to Vacaville to raise their family and resided there for 57 years.
Together they had three children Kathryn Flores, Kenneth McMullen(deceased) and Mark McMullen. In growing a beautiful & fruitful family he had 9 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren and one more on the way due in Spring 2023.
He went into the HVAC trade at the age of 19 years old. In 1967 he would start his first business, Dependable Sheet Metal with his partner. From there he would move on to other business endeavors throughout his professional career and retire at the age of 65.
Bill loved camping, waterskiing, fishing, motorcycle riding and working on cars. He loved working in his yard enjoying the sunshine. Being in nature was truly his playground.
To all that knew him he was a kind, generous, loving and meek man. He loved his family very much. May the Lord bless and welcome him into His loving arms into Heaven.
