Virginia Jenna A. Smith, 86, of Vacaville, passed away after a long illness on Tuesday, March 30, at Courtside Cottages of Vacaville.
She was born on Oct. 10, 1923, in Franklin, Ky.
Jenna worked for the United States government in civil service, retiring in 1985 after 30 years. She was a member of various organizations such as Harmony Chapter No. 4 OES, Honolulu; BPW, NARFE, AARP, Bloss House Historical Society, Atwater, Calif. She was also a board member for 30 years on Community Action Agency, Merced, Calif.
Jenna was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, CMF, Willis A. Smith Sr.; parents, Hubert Barrett Elliott and Josephine Elizabeth Elliott; and brother, Joe David Elliott.
She is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Sharon (Joseph) Walters, Valinda (Dewey) Oliver and Randi (George) Clements; son and daughter-in-law, Willis A. Smith Jr. (Lori); brothers and sisters-in-law, Ben (Dorothy) Elliott, H.B. (Dorothy) Elliott, and Betty Elliott; sister, Nancy J. Cooke; 7 grandchildren, Alexis, Willis III, Virginia Lou, Jason, Beth, Jennifer and Ashley; and 17 great-grandchildren.
A memorial service with Rev. Dr. Su Schlagel officiating was held Saturday, April 3, at 2 p.m. at McCune Garden Chapel. Inurnment will be at San Joaquin National Cemetery, 32053 W. McCabe Rd. in Gustine on May 28th at 12:30 p.m..
