Obituary for Vance Crouch
Vance Crouch was born on February 23, 1931 in Stilwell, Oklahoma, to John Crouch and Bertha (Finley) Crouch. He passed away on April 2, 2013 in Vacaville, California. He spent his early years in Oklahoma, and moved with his family to Chowchilla, California during World War II. He graduated from Chowchilla High School in 1950. He joined the Marine Corps after high school and earned the rank of Staff Sergeant. He married Freda Leona Taylor on May 17, 1953 in Merced, California. They have three sons, Gregory Vance Crouch, Michael Lloyd Crouch (Stacy), and David Dwight Crouch (Kim) eight grandchildren, and eight great grandchildren. He worked for PG&E and he and his family lived in California, Oregon, Washington, Utah and Wyoming. He retired from PG&E in 1987 and he and his wife spent their retirement traveling the country with their children and grandchildren. He served as an Elder and Deacon in the Church of Christ. He is survived by his wife, children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and two sisters, Gertrude Stone, and Nina Mae Baker. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Robert Crouch, Aaron Crouch, and Leon Don Crouch, and sisters, Hattie Bell Hilliard, Dessie Cowin, Georgie Crouch, and Ella Mae Wellman. A viewing will be held at the McCune Garden Chapel, 212 Main Street, Vacaville, California on April 8, 2013 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Funeral Services will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. on April 9, 2013 at the Vacaville Church of Christ, 401 Fir Street. Burial will be in the Sacramento Valley National Cemetery with Military Honors.
