Obituary for Tim M. Larin
Tim Michael Larin, age 84, died Sunday, September 15, 2019, at his home surrounded by his wife Brigitte, his children Laura, Tim, and Trish, their spouses Fred and Bret and all of his grandchildren; Bridgette, Sarah, Joseph, Makenzie, Mattison, and Tyler. Also present were friends, Fred and Mickey, Joseph’s wife Maura, and Bridgette’s fiancé Fred.Tim was born in Williston, North Dakota, to Don and Frances Larin. He is the oldest of five children. He is survived by his sister, Lynne, and husband Richard, his sister Leanne and her husband Gary, and his brother, Joseph, and wife Judy.The Larin family moved to Washington DC, where Tim had the honor of being a Supreme Court Page during his Junior year in high school and then transferred to Gonzaga High School. He then joined the Armed Forces of the United States of America and served as Sergeant during the Korean War.Tim and his wife Brigitte met while attending George Washington University in 1957 and married on June 11, 1960. Tim went on to graduate from American University in Washington DC. After moving to California he completed his MBA from Sacramento State University.After working in the private sector for several years, Tim served as Comptroller for the Livermore, Fremont and Alameda County School Districts. He also served as Business Manager and later as Associate Superintendent for the Davis Joint Unified School District. After retiring in 1999, he and Brigitte enjoined traveling in their Sports mobile. They took great pride in watching their grandchildren participate in various sports activities. Tim was an avid bowler and enjoyed collecting beer steins, coins, stamps, and lighthouses.The Funeral Mass will be held at St. Peter Catholic Church in Dixon, CA on Friday, September 27th at 10am. Tim will be buried at the Sacramento Valley National Cemetery in Dixon, CA. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Catholic Relief Services or St Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
