Obituary for Thomas J. Fournier
Thomas Joseph Fournier was received into the arms of Jesus on June 22, 2013, in Vacaville, CA after a long illness. Tom was born on Aug 22, 1928 in Detroit, MI, to Joseph and Bertha Fournier. He lived in Vacaville since 1972. He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Teresa Fournier, and his nine children: Mary Fournier, Ann Fournier, Margaret Banks, Michael Fournier, Suzanne Ainey, Rita Dillon, Jenny Konieczko, Eugene Fournier, and Patricia San Nicolas, 24 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. He is predeceased by his parents and siblings Mary Jean Novakowski, Mary Theresa Turri and Robert Fournier. Tom served in the U.S. Air Force for 26 years, retiring as a Lt Colonel in 1974. He flew C-141s, C-47, T-38, T-33, A-1 Skyraider’s and served in the Korean and Vietnam wars. After retirement from the USAF, he started several of his own businesses and worked for La Mesa RV. His favorite ministries were: spending time with his family, carpentry, gardening, serving others through the New Hope Food Ministry, and travelling. His passion was flying. He was a long time member of the Solano County Coin Club and the Full Gospel Business Men’s Fellowship. Tom was honest, hard working, industrious, generous with his talents and time, and highly respected. He took advantage of each minute to serve his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ…a man after God’s own heart. He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and friend. He will be greatly missed by all of us. Visitation is at McCune Garden Chapel, 212 Main St., Vacaville on Thurs, June 27, 2013, 5:00-8:00 pm. A celebration of his life will be at New Hope Christian Fellowship, 4910 Allison Pkwy, Vacaville, on Fri, June 28, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. Burial will be held at Sacramento Valley National Cemetery in Dixon, on Mon, July 1, 2013 at 9:30 a.m.
