Obituary for Theodore "Ted" Rogers
Theodore "Ted" Rogers, 61, died March 30, 2019 at his home in West Sacramento. His funeral service will be held on Tuesday, April 9th at the Sacramento National Cemetery in Dixon.
Ted was born on March 30, 1958 in Fairfield, CA to Ted and Betty Rogers. He was a professional motocross racer in his youth, then he joined the Air Force in 1978 and served for 12 years. He graduated from the Napa Police Academy in 1994. He then became a Deputy Sheriff and worked for Placer County Sheriff's Department from 1994 - 1997. After which he transferred to the Dixon Police Department and worked there as a Police Officer from 1997 - 2005. He finished up his police career at Citrus Heights Police Department, serving them from 2005 - 2011.
Ted was an avid fisherman, hunter, sushi lover, bowler, motocross fanatic, history buff and patriot. He loved animals, Facebook games, social gatherings, gambling and cooking.
His friends and family describe him as fun loving with an infectious personality and amazing laugh...and he also gave the best hugs!
He is survived by his wife Kathy Rogers, his daughter Janine Moreno, his grandson Drayton Moreno, his sister Ginger Cervantes, his niece Courtney Clough, and his kitty Meeps. He is predeceased by his son Teddy Rogers.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his name to The Thin Blue Line Foundation.
