It is with heavy heart that we announce the passing of Terry LeRoy Mecham on October 16th, 2019. Terry passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family and friends at the Queen of the Valley Hospital in Napa Ca. after battling cancer for nearly a year. Terry served in the Air Force for 20 years from April 19th, 1967 to April 30th, 1987. He served in the Vietnam war during his military career. During that time, he was stationed at many different bases including England for 5 years and Vandenberg AFB; where he met his wife, Linda. They were married for 48 years. Terry was preceded in death by his father, Voyd Mecham; mother, Marjorie Mecham and his sister Jeanne Mecham Spratt. Terry is survived by his wife Linda, two sons Brian and Kevin (Sondra), Brenda Evans whom he considered his daughter (Glenn), sister Kathy Mecham Sandoz of Washington and brother David Mecham (Cathy) of Washington. Terry had 9 grand kids: Josh, Karli, Kimberly, Thomas, Calee, Joel, Emma, John jr. and Alexys. He also had 2 great grand kids: Alani and Jaxon. Terry had may nieces and nephews in Santa Maria, Washington, Texas and New York. Terry lived in the Fairfield area off and on for 35 years after retiring from the Air Force while stationed at Travis AFB. Terry had many friends and family who knew him as “Pops”. Terry loved barbequing Santa Marie style tri-tip for all his family and friends. He bowled for many years, while in the military and after he retired, both in men’s leagues and mixed leagues with his wife Linda. Terry loved bowling, and he coached his 2 sons Brian and Kevin for years in junior bowling and if you asked him, as adults as well! They are both avid bowlers today because of Terry’s love for the game. Terry will be laid to rest at the Sacramento Valley National Cemetery in Dixon, Ca. on November 15th, 2019. Terry was loved by so many people and would do anything he could to help everyone who needed it. Terry will be missed by all who knew him, but forever in their hearts.
