Her only brother, Carl Eide, died in WWII.
When she was about 2 years old, Swannee and her parents moved to a homestead near VanHook, ND. The family spoke only Norwegian until she started school at age 6. As a senior in high school she went to live with relatives in Wolverton, MN and graduated from high school there. After graduation she moved to Minot, ND. During those depression years she worked in homes. It was there she met Everett Bock. They were married in Van Hook and made their home in Minot where their first son Bryan was born. In 1940, they moved to Mylo, ND where Everett helped his father in the hardware business and had a bulk oil distributorship until after the end of the war. Four more sons were born to them there. They moved to Corning, CA in 1955, where their only daughter was born. Everett managed Corning Lumber Company for his brother-in-law Robert Close, until he retired. They moved to Dixon, CA in 1978, where some of their sons purchased Dixon Hardware and Lumber. Everett died in 2001. Swannee was very active in churches wherever she lived. Her faith was very important to her. She was in Eastern Star before moving to Corning. In Dixon, she went to the Community Church and Dixon United Methodist Church. She belonged to the Red Hats and Womens Improvement Club. She loved to play bridge, bake, and was a very good bowler.
