Obituary for Suzanne Marie Kick
Suzanne Marie Kick died at home in Vacaville, CA on October 05, 2017, after managing many years with Alzheimer’s. She was 81. Suzanne was born on November 20, 1935, in Buffalo, NY to James and Teresa Sanders. She was the sister of Donald Sanders (deceased), David Sanders (deceased), and Joleen Toms. Suzanne was married to her beloved husband Donald, also of Buffalo, NY for 61 years. Suzanne and Donald started their family in Buffalo, but as a military family traveled around the world. They had temporary stops in Florida, Hawaii, and Germany prior to settling in California in 1973. A graduate of Mount Mercy Academy, Suzanne began working at Pillsbury as a telephone switchboard operator. While raising her family, she returned to the workforce as a federal civil servant and retired after 20+ years at Travis AFB, CA. Suzanne enjoyed many activities ranging from downhill skiing and bowling leagues, to ceramics, tole painting, knitting, needlepoint, crocheting and stamping. She was a volunteer at St. Joseph Catholic Church and supported their prayer line. Suzanne took an active interest in her grandchildren’s activities, never missing an opportunity to see them excel and grow. Suzanne is survived by her husband, Donald; sons Brian (Debbie), and Alan (Steve); daughters KarenSue (Leonard) Mix, and Mary (Darren) Carrington; grandchildren Paul (Hattie) Knowles, Corinne (Zachary) Short, and Sean Carrington; and great-grandchildren Lane and Macey.
A memorial service and mass will be held at 10:00 am on Wednesday, October 18th, at St. Joseph Catholic Church – 1791 Marshall Rd, Vacaville. Private burial and reception to follow.
