Obituary for Susanne Wysocki
Susanne Wysocki of Fairfield, California, passed away peacefully in her sleep in the early morning hours of June 19, 2019 at her home in Fairfield. She is now in the loving arms of her late husband, and lifelong love Edmund Wysocki.
Susanne (often referred to as Oma) was born in Breslau, Germany June 8, 1929. During the war she migrated to Munich and worked at an allied military post. There she met the love of her life, Edmund. Having a romantic courtship in Bavaria, they married in the town of Bad Tolz, Germany on June 13, 1952 Susanne came to America to briefly live in Northern Wisconsin after her marriage to Ed. Military service eventually brought the two love birds to San Francisco where Susanne and Ed raised their family.
Susanne loved her paper newspaper with a hot cup of coffee (cream, no sugar-she's sweet enough) every morning. She enjoyed listening to music and singing in a voice to rival an opera star. Over the years, she spent many of her Saturday nights dancing with her friends at the community center in Appleton, Wisconsin. She also enjoyed rock and roll, especially Santana, and loved to dance while she made her home a respite for her family and friends. She enjoyed shaping and polishing raw stones and gems (lapidary work) to make jewelry. Susanne enjoyed nature, country drives and people watching. Often she would look at cloud formations and find familiar shapes in them. She was a wonderful cook who introduced the family to the international cuisine served at her many house parties. Her advice included: put your feet up for a few minutes in the afternoon, make a hot toddy if you have a cold, and if you have a cut or rash, pee on it!
Susanne leaves behind her daughter Sylvia and her husband Frank, her son John and his wife Elaina, her son Stacey and his wife Debbie, her son Ken and his wife Gilda, grandchildren: Walter and Lauren (spouse), Moses and Allyson (spouse) Andrew and Bailey (spouse), Brenden, Hillary and husband Stephen (spouse), Casey and Ellen (spouse), great grandchildren: Madelynn and Amelia. The family would like to thank all her caregivers, including Ed Gadia, who cared for her during her last months.
Burial will be private at the Pine Hill Cemetery in Armstrong Creek Wisconsin. A memorial will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, June 27, 2019, at McCune Garden Chapel, 212 Main St., Vacaville, California. For information on the service, contact the chapel at 707-448-6546.
