Obituary for Sue Bonifacio

Marilee "Sue" Bonifacio

May 15, 1948-July 2, 2025

Marilee Sue Bonifacio (affectionately known as "Sue B") passed away peacefully on July 2, 2025, in Whitehouse, Texas. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and beloved friend to many.

Born in McPherson, Kansas, Sue lived a vibrant and loving life centered around family, friendship, and joyful hobbies. Whether she was tending her garden, playing cards and games, bargain hunting at garage sales, or scouring shops for great deals, she brought warmth and sparkle to everything she did.

Sue had a varied and meaningful career. She spent many years as a realtor at Kappel and Kappel Real Estate, where she helped families find homes that truly suited their lives—always guided by the principle of never selling a home she wouldn’t choose herself. She worked for several years at the Nut Tree. She later worked briefly with her dear friend Janet at McCune Garden Chapel before moving to Arizona in 2022. An avid card player, Sue especially cherished her weekly Bridge games with her girlfriends—a tradition she carried forward virtually after relocating to Arizona, connecting with her Vacaville Bridge Ladies online. She also enjoyed Mexican Train, Hand and Foot, Skipbo, dice games, and just about anything that brought loved ones around the table. She found joy in staying connected with family and friends through Facebook and Instagram, celebrating their triumphs and supporting them through sorrows.

Sue had a flair for the fun and fabulous—cheetah print, anything sparkly, and the vibrant colors pink and purple were her trademarks. She loved baking with her grandchildren and traveling to visit her children in Texas and Hawaii. Her happiest moments were always spent surrounded by family, no matter the activity.

Sue leaves behind her son Ron Mitchell (Suzy) and their children Abigail, Isabella, and Thomas; her daughter Angela Deards (David) and their children Elizabeth and Ali; and her “adopted” daughter Rhonda Larson and her daughters Sydney(Andres) and Vanessa (Daniel). She is also survived by her brothers Homer Krehbiel (Sarah) and Hal Krehbiel (Alice), stepsons, Sean Bonifacio (Kay) and Family and Cory Bonifacio and Family, as well as her cherished pup, Bella. She was preceded in death by her husband Alvin Bonifacio (2003) and her parents Homer and Marie Krehbiel.

A visitation will be held from 9 to 10am followed by a memorial service at 10am, Saturday, August 9 at McCune Garden Chapel. Sue will be laid to rest privately beside her husband Alvin at Elmira Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to the SPCA of Solano County, honoring the joy Sue’s adopted pups brought her throughout the years.

Though Marilee Sue Bonifacio may no longer walk among us, her radiant spirit, fierce love, and enduring legacy remain deeply embedded in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
