Obituary for Stephen Elliot Kempton
Stephen Elliot Kempton, 61, passed away peacefully in his sleep on July 18, 2014 as a service missionary in the LDS Nauvoo, IL Temple Pageant mission. He was born on May 28, 1953 in Port Hueneme, CA to Robert & Phyllis Kempton. Steve graduated from Folsom, CA in 1971. After high school he served an LDS mission in Germany and then joined the US Air Force. Steve married Evelyn Nelson in 1974 in the LDS Oakland CA Temple. They were happily married for 40 years where they raised their family in Vacaville for nearly 33 years. Steve enjoyed photography and outdoor activities. He worked for Kaiser Hospitals as a regional biomedical engineer for nearly 30 years. He is survived by his eternal spouse Evelyn Kempton of Payson, AZ and their three children, S. Joel Kempton, Miriam E. Halley, and Micah E. Kempton as well as their spouses and 13 grandchildren. A visitation will be held at 9 am at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints building at 480 Wrentham Dr, Vacaville CA and funeral service will then start at 10 am on Monday, July 28, 2014. Burial will follow the funeral at Vacaville Elmira Cemetery.
