Obituary for Stephen C. Miller
Stephen Craig Miller, age 50, passed away peacefully on Thursday morning, June 7, from a long illness. He will be greatly missed by his wife, Elizabeth Lee; his children, Joel Stephen and Audrey Elizabeth; and all the family and friends that knew him. Steve was a faithful and Godly husband and father who was completely devoted to his family and loved them with his whole heart. Steve was born on June 19, 1961 and raised in Kansas City, MO. His father was Jerry G. Miller, and his mother is Margaret Shockey Miller Willey. She remembers him as a 'hugger', from the time he was a baby. He graduated from the Univ. of Kansas with a business degree; went on to pilot training in Enid, OK; then served for 13 years in the US Air Force, flying T33 and C141 planes. Following this, he worked for United Airlines as a pilot for 12 years until his illness. He was a kind, dependable and honorable man who displayed strength and courage in the face of extreme personal challenges. His overcomer-mentality is a model for us all. In addition to his wife, children, and mother, Steve is survived by his brother, Lyle Chester Miller; sister, Kris Ann Hawkins; other various family members; nieces, nephews, cousins, sister-in-law, and brother-in-law. Viewing will be at McCune Garden Funeral Home on Sunday from 4 to 6 p.m. A memorial service will be held at The Father's House, Vacaville, CA., on Monday, June 11, at 2:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, please make donations toward the Miller family educational fund.
