Obituary for Stanley Thomas Kirchgessner
Stanley Thomas Kirchgessner, born July 22, 1951, died June 5, 2011 after fighting the good fight with a lifetime of illness. He was born and raised in Vallejo and moved to Dixon in 1986. He was a refinery operator at Unocal/Conoco Phillips in Rodeo for over 35 years.
Stan graduated from St. Vincents High School in Vallejo in 1969, and worked part time at his fathers gas station, Joe and Lloyds Shell. Some of his best memories are from that time including building Hard Tops with his family that they raced at the old Vallejo Speedway. He remained a racing and hot rod enthusiast, including owning around 60 cars in his life.
But Stans greatest passion was his family and any one of them will tell you so. He is survived by his mother Helen, of Vallejo, his wife Kathy, of Dixon, his 3 sons David, of Fairfield, Jeff, of Benicia, and Adam (Kristen), of Sacramento. He was especially proud of his granddaughter Kayla, of Fairfield. Stan also had 5 brothers and sisters, Mel, Doug, Therese, Kim, and Bob. He had nieces and nephews too numerous to count.
A celebration of his life is being planned for the near future. In lieu of flowers charitable donations can be made to his favorite charity for his grand nieces; www.addiandcassi.com
