Obituary for Shizue 'Sue' Cavanagh
Shizue Sue CavanaghJan. 3, 1937 - July 16, 2010Native to Japan, Sue moved to the U.S. in 1964 and became an American citizen in 1975. With her husband, Robert, Sue lived all over the world and eventually settled in Vacaville where she spent the past 20 years. Sue had been very active for over 12 years with her Japanese dancing group Solano Mireisen Kai Nihon Minyo Buyo Renmei. Sue was also involved with a Chinese poem group at the Vacaville Senior Center. Sue is survived by her husband Ret. Chief Master Sergeant Robert J. Cacanagh; sister, Hiromi Jan Engle; brother-in-law Bill Engle; sister Naomi Kitao; brother-in-law Masharu Kitao; brother, Chiaki Yasuda; brother Kogure Uasuda; niece Joanne Engle; sister-in-law Virginia Spinelli; and close friend and caregiver Patty Robinson. A private burial will be held at the Sacramento Valley National Cemetery in Dixon. Arrangements are under the direction of McCune Garden Chapel, 448-6546 www.mccunechapel.com.
