Obituary for Sandra Kay Mitchell Berta
Sandra Kay (Sandi) Berta, age 74 of Vacaville, CA passed away at Brookdale Assisted Living due to Congestive Heart Failure on 12/8/2015
She was born November 7, 1941 to Regnold “Mitch” and Doris (Burrett) Mitchell in Big Rapids, Michigan. She was the middle child and only daughter. She graduated from Big Rapids High and moved into the working world starting in Washington DC, Germany and ultimately moving to California with her daughter.
Sandra had many longstanding jobs including Melody Toyota in San Bruno, Hertz Rent-A-Car in Millbrae & Oakland Airport. She retired from Vacaville City Hall In 2009 After 16 years. She enjoyed working with the Public and took pride in doing an excellent job and she always wanted to make sure everything was done right.
Her favorite things to do was spend time with family and friends, eat a good meal and play a good game of cards or a puzzle.
She has lived in many parts of the Bay Area for over 50 years, San Bruno, San Francisco, Daly City, Hayward and Vacaville.
Although she spent the last several years fighting various ailments, she always had a positive outlook and made friends wherever she went. The family wishes to thank all the doctors, nurses and professionals at Vaca Valley Hospital, Orchard Acute Care, Brookdale Assisted Living, Wound Center & VCRC in the Vacaville area that tirelessly helped her over these past years.
Sandra was preceded in death by her parents Mitch and Doris Mitchell, husband Aldo Berta and brother Steven Mitchell.
Sandra is survived by her Daughter, Cynthia L. Stabile, brother Gordon Mitchell, nieces and nephews and many wonderful friends. She was a beloved Mother, Daughter, Sister and Friend.
