Obituary for Ruth Rothe
Ruth Rothe, 86, of Green Bay, WI and lately Dixon, CA passed peacefully on Jan 10. The youngest child of Joseph W. Rothe and Mamie LaFavre Rothe, she was preceded in death by her parents, sister Doris Eklund, brother and sister-in-law Joe and Mary Rothe, brother-in-law Ivan Moore, friend and former brother-in-law Robert Eklund, niece Mary Elizabeth Sissy Eklund, great niece Ingra Eklund Wells and numerous friends, especially dear friend Arlene Tweet.Ruthie was well known in teaching and golf circles, as a friend and helper to those in need, and as a much beloved figure in her family. When her oldest sister became ill, she stepped in and cared for her nieces and became the life-long caregiver for Sissy. Ruthie taught in the Green Bay area schools; English, French and later, Special Education. She had a lively interest in dogs, cars, music and the Packers. She also had a fervent belief in God, His love and providence. Ruthie attended Mass at St. Willys, St. Marys and St. Peters in Dixon.Because of declining health, Ruth went to live with her niece, Nancy Eklund Wells and her husband George in 2009. She was a spunky delight for her family and all her caregivers. She is survived by her sister Arletta Moore, Nancy and family, Niece Diane (Tom) Grieb, niece Susan Moore, and nephew Joe (Pam) Rothe and numerous great nieces and nephews.Funeral and burial will take place in Ruthies beloved Green Bay, WI.
