Obituary for Rudy Soliz Guaydacan
Rudy passed away on February 2, 2012 at the Vacaville Convalescence & Rehabilitation Center after suffering from Parkinson's disease for 3 years. He was 69 years old. Rudy was born on June 4, 1942 in Alhambra California. He had been a resident of Dixon for 23 years. He started working for U.S. Pipe and Foundry in Union City in 1961 and retired in December 2007 after working for 46 years. Rudy had a kind and gentle nature and was loved by all who knew him. He was fun loving, and always greeted everyone with a smile, even at the end of his life. He handled the disease with dignity, never complaining or feeling sorry for himself. He loved music, especially songs from the 50's. He loved to sing and dance, teaching his grandchildren to do the 'Bop'. He was a avid San Francisco 49er and Oakland A's fan. He loved to go fishing and camping. He enjoyed going to Reno and Las Vegas and playing Keno, his favorite card game. One of his favorite things was to watch his grandchildren play sports. He was their biggest fan. He is survived by his wife of 12 years, Luella; two sons, Matt and Mark Guaydacan of Arbuckle; two granddaughters, Lexy Moreno of Vacaville and Isabel Guaydacan of Davis; his first wife and the mother of his children, Linda Verville; stepchildren Al Bello (Carla) of Stafford ,Virginia; Brian Bello (Tracy) of Dixon; Sadie Bello of Dixon; 16 stepgrandchildren and 8 stepgreat-grandchildren; nephews, Michael Verbanec; Rick and Frank Guaydacan and niece, Marla Guaydacan He is also survived by many friends who loved him dearly, especially lifelong friend Pete Franco. He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Ofelia Guaydacan; brother Fred and sister Lydia and his second wife Charlene. A memorial service will be held on Friday, February 10th at 10:00 AM at the Milton Carpenter Funeral home in Dixon. Contributions may be made to Dixon Little League, P.O. Box 1356, Dixon, CA 95620 or to the donor's favorite charity. We will love and miss you forever Rudy, but you will live on in our hearts and memories.
