Obituary for Roy Summitt
Roy was born in Bristow, OK on Feb. 4, 1940 to Nellie P. Campos and Stanley J. Clark Summitt, Sr. He passed away at home in Vacaville on June 30. He worked for the Vacaville Police Department for 10 years from 1965-1975. He also worked at Dick Lewis Ford. Roy enjoyed camping, fishing and hunting with his family. He and his son spent hours working on their classic cars. They belonged to the Klassic Unique Car Club for about 10 years and enjoyed going on tours and to 'cruise nights'. Roy spent nearly every morning discussing 'man things' over coffee with his friends at various places around the Vacaville area. Roy is survived by his wife of 41 years and eight months, Judyth Doty Summitt; son, Kristopher L.; brothers and sisters-in-law, Raymond (Mary) Summitt of Vacaville, and John Dewey (Jean) Summitt of Modesto; nephews, Brett Summitt of Elk Grove, Edward Summitt of Vacaville and John Summitt and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins in the Oklahoma area. Roy was preceded in death by his mother, Nellie P. Campos; father, Stanley J. Clark Summitt, step-father, Manuel Campos and brother, Stanley (Barbara) Summitt. No formal services are being held. Donations may be made in Roy's memory to Yolo Hospice or Leukemia Lymphoma Society.
