Obituary for Ronald Lane Mitchell Jr.
Ronald Lane Mitchell Jr. “Ronnie” passed away May 11, 2018. Ronnie was born April 7, 1969 at Marin General Hospital. He moved from Pocatello, ID to Vacaville, CA in 1983. He attended Vacaville Christian Academy from 8th through 11th grade and graduated from Vacaville High School in 1987. Ronnie loved playing sports. He continued a family tradition and attended Mississippi State University where he was a member of the Pi Kappa Alpha fraternity. Ronnie was an avid golfer and worked as a golf professional. While living in San Francisco, he reunited with his high school sweetheart, Cheryl and they were married April 17, 1999. They moved to Vacaville to raise their three children, Cameron, Brook, and Jack. He enjoyed coaching youth basketball and football, was a huge Star Wars fan and loved good food! Ronnie is remembered as being a loving husband, proud father, and loyal friend. He was hardworking, and dedicated to his job, at Bay Area SMACNA and for the past 3 years as Executive V.P. for Nor Cal MCA.
He is survived by his wife Cheryl, their children, father; Ron, and mother, Judi, sister; Brandi and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. Though he did not have brothers by birth he considered his closest friends to be his “brothers”. A Celebration of Life will be held: 3 p.m., Sunday, May 20 at Valley Church, 5063 Maple Rd., Vacaville, CA 95687. An Education Fund has been established in lieu of flowers.
