Obituary for Roger Flynt Wendorff
Roger passed away after a valiant battle with cancer. He was born in French Camp, CA and graduated from Ripon High School. He served in the U.S. Air Force for 17 years and retired in 1977 at the rank of Technical Sergeant. After retiring from the military, he began a second career with the California Department of Corrections. He worked as a Correctional Officer at the California Medical Facility for 17 years and retired in 1999 at the rank of Correctional Sergeant.
Roger was an avid San Francisco Giants and 49ers fan, enjoyed fishing at Eagle Lake. In his leisure time, you could find him watching football, baseball, and golf. He was a lifetime member of Chief Solano Kennel Club Inc. and served in various positions and loved to talk about his dogs.
Roger is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Linda; devoted son Jeffrey (Jeff), daughter-in-law Sandy, and grandchildren Holly and Tyler, Holton, KS. He is also survived by his brother, Gary, Walnut Creek, and various member of his extended family. He was preceded in death by his parents, Earl and Katherine Wendorff, Manteca.
Friends and family are invited to a funeral service Tuesday, August 21, 2018, 10:30 A.M. at the Sacramento Valley National Cemetery, 5810 Midway Road, Dixon.
