Rodolfo "Rudy" Lozano, beloved husband, father, and grandfather, died June 1st at 86.
Rodolfo "Rudy" Lozano, a labor contractor and farmer, a lover of good food and family get-togethers, and teller of tall tales to the kids in his family, died June 1st at age 86. Rudy was born on September 23, 1924 in Santa Ana CA to Theresa and Angel Lozano, Mexican immigrants. He spent his childhood in the United States and Mexico before moving his young family to Brentwood CA to work as a labor contractor. In 1964 he moved his family to Dixon where he farmed with his sons for several decades. Affectionately known as "Papi," "Don Rudy," "Tio," "Grandpa," "Gordo," "Hermano," and "Viejo," Mr. Lozano was devoted to his family. He loved nothing more than to share a meal and a conversation. "My father loved to welcome people to his table," said his daughter, Margaret Lozano. "When you sat down at his table, you were a part of his family." Rudy is survived by his wife of 68 years, Carmen Lozano; daughters: Vita Simonsen, Alice Lozano, Margaret Lozano, and Yoli Hickman; sons: Bill Lozano and Mando Lozano, nine grandchildren, and 5 great-grandchildren. He will be greatly missed .
