Obituary for Roberta Patrick

Roberta Patrick, also affectionately known as “Mama,” Momsy,” “Nana,” “Bert,” “Mother Patrick” and other fond titles, transitioned peacefully from this earthly life, to be at home with her LORD and SAVIOR, on the evening of August 18, 2024. She was surrounded and supported by family and friends during the last days of her life.

Roberta was born in Humboldt, Tennessee and was considered a true “Southern Gal.” It was there she met and married her husband Jessie Jerome Patrick on June 3, 1962. During their 41 years of marriage, they accomplished a lot through life, including the birth of their 3 children: Tina Mckenney, Michael Patrick, and Shawn Patrick. After Jessie joined the Air Force, they resided/traveled to many different places domestically and internationally, including Virginia, Colorado, North Dakota, Texas, Indiana, Tennessee, Kansas, Germany, and Paris. Although she enjoyed traveling to various places, California was the place where she spent most of her time and truly called her “earthly” home.

While Jessie served in the Air Force (SMSgt ret.) and later at Lockheed Aerospace, Roberta diligently served as a staunch matriarch of the family and a surrogate mother, aunty, cousin, and friend to many who needed support and love. She served as a culinary extraordinaire in many distinct roles—both personally and professionally—including co-operating a soup kitchen that served individuals and families in need and providing supervision within the church culinary ministry. Her faith and big heart were evident in the endeavors she chose to pursue, and those closest to Roberta would describe her as generous, loving, organized, and dedicated.

Roberta was preceded in death by her husband Jessie Patrick; Mother Birdie Lee Estes; Father James Estes; sisters Rebecca Estes & Lucy Mae Shivers; brothers Alhubert Estes, Timmie Lyneal Estes, Gregory Estes, Jessie Estes; and great-nephew Diondre Estes.

And while Roberta has found eternal life, peace, and rest for her soul, her loss is most greatly felt by her children: Tina, Michael, and Shawn; and her brothers Robert James Estes (Beverly), Eric Estes (Elizabeth), and Willis Dwayne Estes (Juanita). Additionally, by her grandchildren: Lashara, Patrick, Aleah, Marcus, Michaela, Jessie, Michael, and Calvin; and great-grandchildren: James, Justus, Yvellyn, Khalil, Lola, and Malaya. She was equally blessed with a host of loving nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Visitation & final viewing of the remains will be at McCune Garden Chapel on Thursday, September 12, 2024, from 5 p.m. -8 p.m. “Celebration of Life” funeral services will be held at McCune Garden Chapel on Friday, September 13, 2024, from 11:00 a.m. – 12: 15 p.m., directly followed by interment services at the Vacaville Cemetery. Immediately following interment services, a repast (reception) will be held at the Ulatis Cultural Arts Community Center.
