Obituary for Robert Eugene McDonald
Robert “Bob” McDonald, 81, of Fairfield Ca, passed away Friday, Nov. 30, 2018, after a long battle with Alzheimer’s. He was born May 26, 1937, to Clyde and Lucille McDonald of Clinton, Iowa.

He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Dorothy McDonald of Fairfield CA; son, Rob McDonald of Vacaville CA; daughter in-law, Adriane McDonald of Vacaville, CA; grandchildren, Melissa and Mathew Kohrt of Fairfield CA, Jordan & Jared McDonald of Vacaville CA, Emma and Sara Serio of Vacaville CA; great-grandchild, Maliha Kohrt of Fairfield CA; nieces, Debbie Philips and Vicky Clarke of Marysville TN; and his beloved Boxer, Shona. He was preceded in death by his sisters, Beverly Wilson & Lois Burns, daughter, Barbara Kohrt & mother, Lucille.

Bob started his career in the United States Air Force. After 14 years of service he went on to work for Seaboard World Airlines, Air Cal and then American Airlines. He retired from American Airlines in 1994. He was a passionate fisherman, a loving husband and a man who liked to have a fun time. He especially loved spending time with his dog Shona enjoying the retired life and relaxing.

Inurnment will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 20, 2018, at Sacramento Valley National Cemetery with military honors, 5810 Midway Rd., Dixon, CA.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Alzheimer Foundation and or Northbay Hospice.
