Obituary for Robert “Bob” Leonard Gillihan
In Vacaville on the morning of April 17, Robert “Bob” Leonard Gillihan died peacefully with family at his bedside. He was 68. Born to parents, A.M. Gillihan and Clarice Marie Hyde on November 13, 1944 in St. Joseph, Mo. Bob was one of 5 children. He was preceeded in death by his loving wife, Norma and brothers, Gene Gillihan and Kenny Tinkle. Bob is survived by his daughter, Allison (Ryan) Buckley; grandchildren, Haylee and Cody Buckley; brother, Gary (Darlene) Gillihan; sister, Susie Hoffman and many other nieces, nephews that he adored. Bob was a proud United States Marine and served in the Vietnam War where he earned several medals. He loved to watch NASCAR and drag racing. Most of all he loved to brag about his grandchildren Haylee and Cody. Bob was a long time resident of Vacaville Convalescent and Rehab. He loved his girls and the staff there who took excellent care of him and were not only his friends, but also his family. Bob also was under the care of Northbay Hospice at his passing. The celebration of Bob’s life will be held at Vacaville Convalescent and Rehabilitation on Saturday April 20, 2013 at 3:00.
