Obituary for Richard Randall Dawson
Richard Dawson was born in Michigan City, Indiana on November 5, 1936 and went to his heavenly home on March 22, 2016. He was preceded in death by his parents, Donald & Dorothy Dawson, and his sister Donneanne Dawson Reising. He was a loving father, grandfather and great-grandfather. Richard is survived by his wife and best friend, Belinda Dawson; Children Margaret Stone, Debra Duncan (Greg), Nancy Meyer (Jeff), Randy Dawson (Patty); 10 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren with 3 more on the way; 3 step-children Amy Hurtado (Eric), Melissa Rowe (Zach), Aaron Brunner, 10 step-grandchildren and 1 step-great-grandchild. Richard was raised in Morton, Illinois and entered the Air Force at the early age of 17 and served 20 years during which time he received the Distinguished Flying Cross. After his military service he became a Real Estate Broker, owning his own business Realty World-Camelot Realty for many years. In 1997 he and Belinda joined Kappel & Kappel Realtors and opened a training center in which he trained and mentored many future Real Estate Agents until he retired in 2013 He and Belinda loved to travel together. He also loved his toys – boat, motorcycle, motorhome and in the last years classic cars. Interment will be held at the Vacaville-Elmira Cemetery, Wednesday, March 30 at 10:00 am followed by memorial service at 11:00 am at Orchard Avenue Baptist Church. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Northbay Hospice.
