Obituary for Richard M. Miley
Richard Matthew Miley, 64, went to rest on February 19, 2012. His wife and daughter were at his side. Richard spent a long ten months with an illness he couldn't get ahead of. He was born April 20, 1947 in San Francisco to Peter Miley and Dolores Southall, both who have preceded him in death. He spent 22 years in the Navy as a submariner which he was very proud of, retiring in 1987. He worked civil service for 20 years retiring from Travis AFB in 2007. He loved camping, fishing, wood working and his “Budweiser”. He belonged to the Vacaville Moose Lodge where he spent many years cooking and making lifelong friends. Survivors include his wife of 34 years, Wanda; daughter, Heather Miley; stepsons, Rodney Botelho and Charles Botelho; grandson, Collin Miller; brother, Lawrence Miley; sisters, Monica (Eddie) Vargas, Marcia (Paul) Duncan; grandmother, Belle Swartzman; also many aunts, nieces and nephews. Also his beloved Labs, Reba and Molly, and cat Toby. Inurnment will take place on March 14, 11 a.m., at the Sacramento Valley National Cemetery 5810 Midway Rd., Dixon. A Celebration of Life will immediately follow at 1 p.m., at the Vacaville Moose Lodge, 6585 Gibson Canyon Rd., Vacaville. Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of your choice. The family wishes to thank all our friends who have helped us through the last ten months, we love and appreciate you all.
