Obituary for Ray Christensen
It is with great sadness we announce that Ray Christensen, 55, of Dixon, CA passed away after a courageous battle with liver cancer. He was preceded in death by his mother, Marlene St. Clair of Salton Sea Beach, CA. Ray is survived by his wife of 17 years, Lee; daughter, Kimberlee; son Raymond of Yucaipa, CA; brothers, Wayne (Kathie) of Denver, CO, John (Jenny) of Yucaipa, CA and Eddie; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews and his constant companion, his dog, Suki.
Ray was born in Sacramento and at the age of four moved with his family to St. Louis, MO. As a teen, he and his family moved back to California and Ray graduated from Yucaipa High School in 1972. In 1973, Ray attended Sac State to study wastewater management. He started his 35 year career in San Bernardo with stops at the Monterey and Petaluma treatment plants. The bulk of his career was happily spent at the Easterly Wastewater Treatment Plant. Ray was proudly celebrated his 23rd anniversary with the City of Vacaville last August.
Ray loved the great outdoors. He always looked forward to the annual camping trips to Dillon Beach with the Bottoms Up Club. One of his favorite places was the Grand Canyon, which he liked to call the ditch. Ray was dedicated to his family and spent all his free time with them. He was especially close to his daughter, Kimme. Ray was a dependable and cherished friend and was best known for is sense of humor. His love and laughter will forever echo in our hearts.
No services are planned at this time. A memorial trust has been established in Rays name for his daughter (14) and is intended to help pay for college.
