Obituary for Prentice Beckham Milburn Jr.
Prentice Beckham Milburn Jr., aged 83, died at his home in Carmichael, California, on June 5, 2015. The cause was congestive heart failure. Born October, 19, 1931, in Elizabethtown, Kentucky. Mr. Milburn enlisted in the United States Air Force in 1950 where he served 26 years including tours in Korea and Vietnam. He was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross with 1 Oak Leaf Cluster. He retired in 1977 with a rank of Master Sargent. Mr. Milburn began his second career with the U.S. Postal Service in 1978, in Dixon California. He served the Dixon community as a letter carrier and clerk for 21 years; retiring in 2007 Prentice is survived by his wife, Susan Milburn, of Vacaville, CA; his first wife, Pamela Milburn, of Roseville, his son and daughter-in-law, John and Lisa Milburn of Granite Bay CA; his daughter and son-in-law, Suzanne and Tim Bernhardt, of Carmichael, CA; California, his sister and brother-in-law , Barbara and Terry Millburg, of Taylorville, Illinois, and three grandchildren. Mr. Milburn will be laid to rest with full military honors at Sacramento Valley National Cemetery in a private family service.
