It is with great sorrow and pain that we announce the passing of Phillip Arthur Martinez on January 4, 2024 in Vacaville, CA. Phill was surrounded by loved ones and was relieved of his long battle and suffering from medical complications. Phill was born on November 16, 1955 in San Francisco to Arthur and Mary Martinez, along with his twin sister Patricia. Phill grew up in Newark and joined the United States Airforce in 1974. While honorably serving his country, he met his future wife Elaine, and they were married in April 1978. After their nuptials, the pair lived in Colorado to allow Phill to earn his A&P license as an aviation mechanic, and then returned to California, where Phill worked at Travis Air Force Base and then United Airlines for an additional 30 years.
While living in Vacaville, CA, Phill lived passionately playing softball, riding his Harley, and being an avid sports enthusiast, as well as a devoted and caring father, husband, and grandfather. Over the years, Phill discovered the blessing of two additional half-siblings, Jill, and Tim, whom he was able to cultivate warm and meaningful relationships with.
Phill is survived by his loving wife Elaine, his loyal pup Avvy, his sons Brad and Todd, their spouses Kendra and Kelsa, and his three grandchildren: Jack, Bella, and Logan, as well as his half-brother Tim.
