Obituary for Paula Jeanette McCoy
Paula Jeanette McCoy, at the age of 52, passed away early Thursday morning July 17th 2014. Paula started her life's journey in French Camp, CA born to Herman Sr. and Pauline San Nicolas, and raised nearby in Stockton, CA. She was the only girl of seven children. In her twenties Paula moved to Oceanside, CA where she met and married the love of her life and eternal soul mate, Darrell Lee McCoy, whom she spent 30+ years with. For the last 20 years she made Vacaville her home and where she raised her family. She is survived by her cherished husband Darrell, and beloved children: Nancy (Francisco), Crystal, Tony (Sabrinna), Angelina (Marvin), Danny, Tiffany, Bobby, and Leticia; many nieces and nephews (blood or otherwise) that she loved like her own; and twenty-four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren that she loved with all of her heart and soul. Many of her grandchildren will never meet her but she will be with them nonetheless; her love is strong. She is survived by her brothers: Mark, Randy, Ricky, Johnny and Chuck and many relatives. She is reunited in heaven with her mother Pauline, big brother Herman Jr., mother-in-law Nancy, and brother-in-law David, whom she missed dearly. She lived a very active life, loved to cook, dance, and travel. She left this world having traveled from coast to coast and all the way to her beloved Guam. She loved being by the water, whether it was running on the beach when she young or taking her children and grandchildren to WaterWorld and Six Flags; or swimming in her back yard. She loved going to Lake Tahoe with her husband and family. She also loved walking at Pena Adobe with her daughter's and grandchildren. Like her mother and father she enjoyed fishing and long drives. Although she spent her life as a working mom in grocery she was an extremely active parent at Fairmount Elementary School and St. Mary's Catholic Church. She was a Yard Duty Supervisor and helped in countless classrooms and field trips. Known to many by her caring spirit and welcoming heart, people who needed help in their life could always come to her. She IS an amazing soul, and has had many roles in peoples' lives as a wife, mother, nana, auntie, godmother, friend, and second mother to many people. She has left her mark and will always be remembered. She will love us all for eternity. She always welcomed people into her home and wanted to feed and take care of them, she believed that “the Love of a family makes life beautiful.” Please join us in a celebration of her life which will begin Thursday evening July 23rd at McCune Garden Chapel from 5-8pm with a Rosary at 7pm, and viewing Friday Mass at 10am at St. Mary's Catholic Church. All are welcomed who loved her, she loves you still.
