Obituary for Paul William Swifka
Paul William Swifka, 41, of Dixon and Chico, California, died on March 28, 2016.
Born to Sharon and Bill Swifka on September 22, 1974 in Okinawa, Japan, the family later settled in Dixon, California. Paul attended the local Dixon schools, and developed an interest in art and music. He had a natural talent for art, and was nominated by his high school art teacher for a scholarship to attend the California Institute of the Arts three- month program in Southern, California.
Paul continued his love of the arts by attending the Art Institute of Seattle, where he obtained a degree in Audio Production and Broadcasting Communications. In Chico he worked as a disc jockey at the local morning radio stations, and did commercial voiceover production. He later served as a letter carrier for the US Postal Service for five years.
He was most proud of becoming a father and loved spending time with his daughters.
He is survived by his daughters, Mia and Sydney; his parents, Sharon and Bill Swifka; his sister and brother-in-law, Sara and Albert Lopes; and many extended family members.
Services will be held at St. Peter's Catholic Church, 105 S. 2nd Street, Dixon, Ca 95620 on Tuesday, April 5, 2016 at 10:00 am.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be made in Paul's memory to Chico Rescue Mission, 2612 Esplanade, Chico, CA 95973.
