Obituary for Paul Ivy Andrews
Paul Ivy Andrews, 32, died on Monday, May 29, 2017, from injuries sustained in a hit-and-run car crash in Honolulu, Hawaii. Paul is survived by his wife Lorenia, six-month-old baby boy Kai, his parents Scott and Norma, and brother Matthew. Paul was a grandson, nephew and cousin to many in the Andrews and Lozano families. He was born on March 23, 1985, in Woodland, Calif., raised in Dixon and graduated from Dixon High School in 2003. He lived in Sacramento, Los Angeles, where he met Lorenia, and Las Vegas. In 2013, Paul and Lorenia moved to Hawaii where he was a server at Nobu restaurant in Honolulu. Paul was a great family man and married Lorenia Leyva on October 2016 and the couple had one child together, Kai Davis Andrews. He was a very social and active person. He enjoyed all sports, especially softball. His family and friends will always remember him as a kind, sharing person that would light up a room with a bright smile, expressive gestures and friendly banter. The family would like to thank the amazing kindness and generosity of Paul's friends, coworkers and employer. Their support has provided strength in this challenging time. They'd also like to thank the doctors, nurses and staff at Queens Medical Center in Honolulu. Paul was an organ donor and many will benefit from his selflessness. A special thank you goes to the heroic efforts of a local Uber driver and passenger for responding quickly and diligently to the situation. A viewing is scheduled for Thursday, June 8 from 6-8 p.m., and the funeral is scheduled for Friday, June 9 at 10 a.m., both at St. Peter’s Catholic Church at 105 S. Second St., Dixon, CA 95620.
