Obituary for Patricia 'Pat' Boegeman Jones
Patricia Boegeman Jones, 83, died Tuesday, September 20, 2011 at home in Davis, CA. Pat was born on May 15, 1928 in Orange County, California. She met the love of her life, Kenneth Jones, in June 1952, and they married less than 30 days later. She followed him wherever he was stationed, including French Morocco. She earned a Bachelors Degree and a Masters Degree at the University of California, Riverside, and became a teacher of English in 1963. She had the opportunity to touch many students lives as she taught at the high-school level for several years, then as a college professor, and then rounded out her career as the GATE coordinator for Anderson High School in Northern California. Pat and Ken retired young and spent many years square dancing and travelling, until their grandson was born in 1993. He instantly became the light and focus of their lives. Pat is survived by her husband of 59 years, Kenneth Jones, her daughter Deborah and son-in-law, John Cumins, and her beloved grandson Kenny Cumins. A memorial service will be held at Dixon Community Church on Thursday, September 29, 2011 at 11:00 a.m.
