Patricia Louise (Chandler) Jensen August 30, 1933 October 03, 2009
Patricia Louise Jensen, 76, a long-time resident of Vacaville, passed away peacefully on October 3, 2009 in Vacaville, CA after an extended illness. Pat was born in Chico, CA where she grew up and graduated from Chico High School in 1951. While attending Brigham Young University, she met and married Eldon L. Jensen, of Cowley, Wyoming in Vallejo, CA on June 6, 1953. They subsequently moved several times while supporting Eldons education and military service.
Pat and her family returned to the Vacaville / Fairfield area in 1961 where she worked various jobs for the Vacaville Police Department, Nut Tree, Fairfield-Suisun Unified School District, and Solano College where she made many lasting friendships.
Pat enjoyed traveling, sewing, board games and loved her frequent visits with friends and family. She was a longtime member of the Solano County Genealogical Society and volunteered at the LDS Family History Librarys in Vacaville and Fairfield. Pats father and mother who preceded her, Harry D. Chandler II and Clydia V. McDaniel were longtime Vacaville residents. Her paternal grandfather, Harry D. Chandler, was a Vacaville pioneer and owned lumber companies in the area for many years. Her brother Harry D. Chandler III also preceded Pat in death. Her family was the joy of her life and Pat loved family gatherings for birthdays and holidays. Pat was deeply loved and will be missed by those who survived including her husband of 56 years, Eldon L. Jensen of Vacaville, and children Lora Gordon of Suisun, Bruce (Susan) Jensen of Vacaville, Larry (Sharon) Jensen of Elk Grove, and Janet (Jose) Perez of Vacaville; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren who she loved dearly; her sister Dora J. (Chandler) Albro of Vacaville, nephews, nieces, cousins, and several lifelong friends.
A memorial service for Pat will be held on Wednesday October 7, 2009 the viewing begins at 11:30 a.m. followed with a service at 1:00 p.m. at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 311 Alamo Dr. in Vacaville, CA.
The family requests making donations to the American Cancer Society.
