Obituary for Pat Carter
Patrick Carter, of Vacaville, passed away on July 10, after a long illness. Pat was born on Nov. 28, 1950 in Oakland, Calif. He graduated from St. Mary's College High School in Berkeley, and UC Berkeley. After completing his teaching credential, Pat was hired to teach English at Fairfield High School, where he taught for his entire 37 year career. Pat was a devoted sports fan. He loved Cal football, and he celebrated, not just one, but two World Series wins by his San Francisco Giants. He was also an avid reader and book collector. Pat is survived by his wife, Amanda (Mandy); sons, Matthew and Scott; grandson, Liam; sister and brother-in-law, Jerilyn and Dave Foushee; and nephews, Stefan and Dan Foushee. A memorial service will be held at McCune Garden Chapel, 212 Main St, Vacaville, on Friday, July 25, at 11 a.m. Memorial donations can be made in Pat's name to the American Cancer Society or to the Ronald McDonald House at UC Med Center, Sacramento.
