Obituary for Pablo Amaya
Pablo Amaya was born on March 2, 1942 in Agualulco, SLP, Mexico. After a lengthy illness, he left to be with our Lord on November 8, 2013. He was preceded in death by his daughter Paula Ann Amaya and his mother Zeferina Amaya. He is survived by his partner Dolores Castro; his daughter Wanda Velasquez ; his sons, Paul, Jr., Juan Jose and wife Wanda, Jerol Edward and wife Irma, James Paul and wife Hilary, and Juan David, Sr. ; three stepsons Tommy Waller, Dale Castro and Richard Castro; his sister Sylvia Agüeros; three brothers, Severino and wife Bartola, Juan and wife Lupe; 18 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren plus three on the way; and numerous nieces and nephews. Before he retired, he was an agricultural engineer at UC Davis. After retirement, he was able to fully enjoy his fishing and volunteered at the Dixon Senior Citizens Center and at the community food bank distributing food to the needy. He was a member of St. Peter’s Catholic Church and Knights of Columbus. Visitation will be on Thursday, November 14, 2013 from 5 to 8 p.m. at Milton Carpenter’s Funeral Home in Dixon. Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Mass will be held at St. Peters Catholic Church on Friday, November 15 at 10:30 am. Burial will follow at Silveyville Cemetery.
