Obituary for Otto 'Mike' Dannenberg
Otto “Mike” Dannenberg passed away on July 6th 2013 at the age of 66, after a battle with chronic heart failure. He was born February 2nd 1947 in Sacramento California, to Oscar and Marjorie Dannenberg. Mike attended Cal Poly San Luis Obispo College and earned a BS in Agriculture. He worked in Santa Barbara as an agriculture inspector before moving to Napa. Mike eventually moved up from an inspector to deputy agricultural commissioner. Mike worked in Napa for the Agricultural Commissioner’s Office for 28 years before his retirement in 2003. He enjoyed spending time with family, friends, and extended family. His passions included country dancing, horticulture, and spending time with his kids and grandchildren. Mike was a free spirit, avid gardener, adventurous traveler, thoughtful, generous and nurturing father and grandfather, and a deeply loyal and compassionate friend. Mike is survived by his son Jon-Michael Dannenberg of Dixon, and daughter Carrie-Lee Patnaude of Dixon; grandchildren Connor Dannenberg and Aubrey Dannenberg of Dixon. He was preceded in death by his parents Oscar and Marjorie Dannenberg, and sister Sherilyn Dannenberg. He will be greatly missed and long remembered by all who were touched by his kind and loving heart.

Mike enjoyed helping others reach their goals and dreams and the family requests that donations can be made to the Sheri Dannenberg Memorial Scholarship Fund at First Northern Bank, a scholarship fund he established when his sister passed and which he was actively involved in. Flowers and cards can be sent to the family through the Posh Shoppe Florist in Sacramento.
