Obituary for Nickolas 'Nick' Tigos
Nickolas Tigos, 80, of Vacaville, passed away after a brief illness on Wednesday, Feb. 10, in Vacaville. Nick was born on Feb. 6, 1930 in Piraeus, Greece.Nick was a manager at Black Oak Restaurant for 15 years. He was also a self employed Restaurateur for 25 years.Nick was a beloved father, papuli, brother and friend. He was loved by everyone who was fortunate to be in his presence. Nick loved trips to Cache Creek, riding his scooter around town, spending time with his best friend Vito and spoiling his daughter and grandchildren. He retired to Greece in 1993 and returned to Vacaville in 2008.Nick was preceded in death by his wife of 50 years, Diana Tigos; parents, Kosta and Katina Tigos; cousin, Russell Kalis. He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Barbara Tatum and Al Little; brother and sister-in-law, George and Julie Tigos; grandchildren, Nick (Heather) Tatum, Roy Tatum and Erica Kubo, and best friend, Vito. A visitation will be held on Monday, Feb. 15, from 5 to 8 p.m. at McCune Garden Chapel, 212 Main St.. A Greek Orthodox service with Father Alex officiating, will be held on Tuesday, Feb. 16, at 10 a.m., also at McCune Garden Chapel. Burial will follow at Vacaville-Elmira Cemetery.
