Obituary for Nancy Petersen
God's timing was impeccable, as Nancy joined her husband Jack exactly one year later to the hour.
She was born in Northern Michigan, and at the age of seven, Nancy's family was one of 202 who settled in the Matanuska Valley in Alaska. She married and had six children and multiple grandchildren and great grandchildren. Many costumes and clothes were the result of those strong hands over the years.
Nancy lived her life to the fullest which included jumping out of perfectly good airplanes. She and Jack moved to Tacoma where amazing friendships were forged. After many years of golf and trips taking friends to chemotherapy, they moved to Vacaville to spend their last six plus years nearer their youngest son's family.
Nancy is best remembered as a giving friend and an awesome grandmother, even to those who weren't her grandchildren. She loved God. A celebration of Nancy's life and freedom from Alzheimer's disease for friends and family will take place at her son and daughter-in-law's home in Vacaville. Those who wish, may donate to Alzheimer's research. We will miss you, Nancy, and know that you are in great hands.
