Obituary for Milosh "Moe" Hora
It is with great sadness that the family of Milosh, “Moe” Hora announces his peaceful
passing at his home in Vacaville, CA, on December 1, 2018 at the age of 89.
Moe was born to Frank and Liby (Libuse) Hora, June 17, 1929. His parents
journeyed from Czechoslovakia and made their home in Oakland, CA, where he was
born. He is preceded in death by his parents, his cherished wife Evalyn of 55 years, his
siblings Marie Driscoll, Liby Edelstein and Frank Hora, and grandson Jaesun Hora.
Moe and Evalyn raised their children Dan, Dennis and Denise in Pleasant Hill,
CA, where he lived for 55 years. Moe loved working with his hands; from building home
additions to crafting and repairing/restoring cars. He also had a love of nature, pets,
camping, fishing and hunting. Most of all he enjoyed his 87 consecutive, annual trips to
Yosemite, where his spirit was renewed with family and friends.
He was a strong man and the family patriarch. Moe will be lovingly missed by
his children Dan, Dennis, Denise, son-in-law Joe; and “Papa” will be remembered by his
8 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great grandchildren. “Uncle Moe” will
be remembered by many nieces, nephews and friends. Moe is now reunited with the love
of his life Evalyn.
A celebration of Moe’s life will follow at a later date.
