Obituary for Mildred Lynch
Mildred Estelle Prince Lynch, affectionately known as Nanny, quietly passed away on May 11th surrounded by her children.
Nanny was born to Pearl and Marvin Prince on November 1, 1921 in Martin, TN. She was the eldest of four children and learned her bossy ways at an early age. In 1942 she met and married a handsome soldier, Jerry Lynch, another Tennessee native. They were happily married for 51 years before his passing in 1993. They had three children, Jerre Lynn, Kathleen and Jimmy.
Nanny was an accomplished artist and crafter. She produced beautiful oil paintings, china paintings, stained glass pieces, quilts, photographs and exquisite porcelain dolls. She conquered any task she attempted. She was a meticulous housekeeper, she mowed the lawn, did the gardening, washed the cars and painted the house, all because no one else did it quite to her specification.
She had a feisty personality and was quick to make lasting friendships. She was a strict and loving mother, a strong willed and devoted wife, and a wonderful example for us all.
Nanny is survived by her daughter and son-in-law Jerre Lynn and Jack King, her daughter Kathleen Danks, her son and daughter-in-law, James and Christine Lynch, 14 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren, her sister Margaret Taylor of Martin, TN and her brother Charles Prince of Aiken, SC. She will be sorely missed by all.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Jerry and brother, Cecil Prince.
