Obituary for Michelle Ann (Refacho) Hipol
Michelle Hipol lost her courageous five-year battle with cancer on Aug. 29. She was 41 years old. Her final days were spent at home surrounded by family and friends. Michelle was an award-winning agent with CSAA for over 15 years. While Michelle excelled in her work, her primary focus in life was her family. Michelle lived in Vacaville for 13 years with her husband of 22 years, Hector, raising their two children, Kyle and Juliette. She strived to provide a loving home life and created innumerable life memories through the activities they did as a family. Michelle always had a giving spirit and incorporated volunteer work into her life for two decades, including bringing food to homebound seniors and volunteering (along with her son) with Faith In Action. Michelle’s bright light, loving nature, passion for life, and desire for everyone around her to be happy and have fun was apparent in everything she did. You could not help but feel better just being in her presence. She will be terribly missed by those who knew and loved her. Preceded in death by her brother, Anthony Refacho. Michelle is survived by her husband, Hector; children, Kyle and Juliette; father, Antonio Refacho; mother and stepfather, Betty and Steve Catabay; sisters, Diane Refacho and Julie Turner (Fred); and stepsiblings, Jeffrey Cantancio (Julie), Stephanie Parra (Filipe) and Bradley Catabay. Visitation will be today from 5 to 8 p.m. at McCune Garden Chapel, with services on Wednesday, Sept. 5, at 10 a.m. In lieu of flowers, Michelle has requested donations be made to organizations that seek a cure for breast cancer.
