Obituary for Michael "Mike" B. Miller
Michael (Mike) Miller, of Dixon, California passed away surrounded by family on October 1, 2017 at the age of 68. Mike was born in Indianapolis, Indiana on May 12, 1949. He graduated from South High school in Bakersfield, continued his education by attending College of the Desert where he received his AA degree in Law Enforcement. Mike married Dana on September 28 in Duncan, Oklahoma, they were married for 45 years. Mike was a traffic officer for the California Highway Patrol from 1973-1979 and then a Helicopter Pilot from 1979-1994. In addition, Mike served in the Army National Guard as a Helicopter Pilot from 1981-1994. Mike also served in the Vietnam War as a helicopter pilot. Mike was preceded in death by his parents Herbert Dale and Bessie Lou Miller. He is survived by his loving wife Dana, his children Steven (Tami) and Brian (Lisa). He was the attentive grandfather to Madeline, Morgan, Lucas, Sophie and Taylor. Mike is also survived by his sisters, Cindy, Trisha (Chris), Nancy (Paul) and his brother Tom (Marylou). Mike has numerous nieces and nephews who all adored him as well. Mike was an active member of the Dixon Methodist Church. Mike always put family above everything else. He was a very generous and caring Husband/Father/Brother/Grandfather/Uncle and Friend. He will be missed greatly and will always carry a special memory in all our hearts. Mike’s celebration of life will be held on October 17th at 9:30 at the United Methodist Church in Dixon, 209 N. Jefferson Street. Graveside service will follow immediately after at the Sacramento Valley National Cemetery, 5810 Midway Road Dixon Ca. Reception at the United Methodist Church after burial service. In honor of Mike, memorial donations can be made to the United Methodist Church in Dixon.
