Obituary for Mercedes Shepherd
Mercedes Shepherd July 12, 1934 - Sept. 1, 2013 Mercedes “Mercy” Shepherd was born July 12, 1934 and entered into rest on Sept. 1, after a long illness. She was a beloved mother, grandmother, auntie, friend and confidante. Her warmth and caring heart caused everyone who came into contact with her to love and adore her. Her sense of humor touched so many and brought smiles and laughter to everyone she was around. She was a long-time Fairfield resident who managed the Round Hill Creek Apartments for over 22 years. She is survived by her daughter, Dawn Shepherd, and son-in-law Cleo Mayoral; daughter, Sally Kittelson, and son-in-law, Greg Kittelson; son, Russell McConnell, as well as sisters, Viola Green, Dolores Stoll and Catherine Pieratt. Mercy had nine grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. Services are as follows at the McCune Garden Chapel, 212 Main St., Vacaville, Thursday Sept. 5 from 5 to 8 p.m., viewing and 7 p.m., Rosary. A Catholic prayer service will be held Friday, Sept. 6, at 10 a.m., at McCune Garden Chapel.
