Obituary for Mary Louise Loveall
Mary Louise Loveall, 90, passed away quietly at her home with her family at her side on Tuesday evening, Aug. 19, 2014 after a lengthy illness. Mary was born in Pleasants Valley to parents who emigrated from Spain. She grew up on her family’s Pleasants Valley ranch, where they grew fruit, vegetables and walnuts and raised chickens and rabbits. Her father passed away when she was only 9 years old and her family had to work hard to keep their ranch through the depths of the Great Depression. Old-fashioned values and a strong work ethic helped her whole family persevere. Mary was always there to help out any and all. After graduating from Vacaville High School in 1942, she attended Heald Business College in San Francisco and upon graduation, worked at Hunter’s Point Naval Shipyard in the payroll department and in the shipyard commanders office. She was a U.S. savings bond agent at Hunter’s Point during World War II. She lived and worked in San Francisco from 1942 to 1956. She married the love of her life, Leroy, on Nov. 28, 1953, and their marriage lasted for 56 years until his death in 2010. She, her husband and infant son, Lee, moved to Vacaville in 1956. Soon after, they bought property on Pleasants Valley Road, a quarter-mile away from where Mary was born. She lived the rest of her life happily in Pleasants Valley. She was a member of NARFE, Club Iberico de Espana and a lifelong member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church. She is survived by her son, Lee James (Jane) Loveall of Fairfield; daughter, Rosemary (Dan) Loveall-Sale of Vacaville; grandson, Glenn Lee Loveall of Fairfield; and many nephews, nieces and cousins. Mary was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Leroy Carlisle Loveall; brother, John Carrillo; sister, Cecelia Waterman; and infant son, Joseph Loveall. The family wishes to thank Judith Peteros for her excellent care and devotion to Mary. A visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m., Monday, Aug. 25, 2014 at McCune Garden Chapel, with a rosary recited at 6 p.m. A Mass of Christian burial will follow at 10 a.m., Tuesday, Aug. 26, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church followed by burial at the Vacaville-Elmira Cemetery.

If you wish to honor Mary’s memory, a donation to NorthBay Hospice and Bereavement would be appreciated.
